Adirondack Museum's Antiques Show and Sale Opens This Weekend

Baxter Mountain, Keene Valley, Adirondacks, 1865, by William Richardson Tyler (1825 - 1896) is one of the historical fine art pieces presented by Saratoga Fine Art at the Adirondack Museum’s Antiques Show and Sale, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19 and 20.

A genuine, mid-century, rustic dining table with six matching armchairs will be the centerpiece of the exhibition designed by David Allan Ramsay (Cape Porpoise, Maine) at the Adirondack Museum’s Antiques Show and Sale, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19 and 20.

On the heels of its popular Rustic Furniture Fair last weekend, the Adirondack Museum will host the country's top dealers in art, antiques and vintage pieces embodying the mountain "Great Camp" style this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19 and 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ablaze in the bright hues of autumn, the museum's grounds at 9097 State Route 30 in Blue Mountain Lake, N.Y., is a sublime destination nestled between mountain peaks and shining lakes for weekenders from points in New England, New York City, and beyond.

Hudson River School paintings to tramp art are among a robust selection of rustic furniture, folk art , Americana, antiques, and fine art presented at the annual Adirondack Museum Antiques Show and Sale. The event is included with general museum admission.

An on-site Lake View Café will be open and visitors can also take in garden tours, children’s activities, and all museum exhibitions, including the new shows A Sense of Place: Ellen Phelan’s Kenjockety, Weaving A Legacy: Mohawk Basketry Traditions, Gone Camping: Outfitting the Adirondack Campsite, Arto Monaco and the Land of Makebelieve, and Sonic Hotel: Lost and Found Sounds of the Adirondacks.

Exhibitors hail from over 12 states. These specialists have carefully selected a range of items in the Adirondack taste, including antique camp, cottage, patio, and Mission furniture; rare books; vintage boats; decoys and vintage sporting goods; taxidermy; quilts; vintage leather items, historical fine art, folk art, prints, and posters; oriental rugs; Native American jewelry; and much more.
